Seachtain na Gaeilge
Bhí na páistí ó Rang 3 agus 4 ag obair go dian le linn Seachtain na Gaeilge an bhlian seo. Chruthaigh siad drámaí iontacha bunaithe ar an Réamhaisnéis na hAimisire. Tá súil againn go mbainfidh sibh taitneamh as astu!
The children in 3rd and 4th classes were working really hard this year during Seachtain na Gaeilge. They created dramas based on the weather forecast. We hope that you enjoy them!
World Book Day 2024
We had great craic during this years World book day. We started the day with a “Book and Tell”. We brought in our favourite books so that we could share them with the class. The Diary of a Wimpy kid and the Harry Potter series were firm favourites!
Our friends from Ms. Fahey’s 3rd class then joined us for an epic Table quiz all about books! Congratulations to our well deserving winners who all won a homework pass!
Finally we finished up our day with some book-themed mindfulness colouring and story reading by the fireside!
Engineers Week
The children really enjoyed experiencing what it was like to be an engineer during the fantastic Lego Workshop facilitated by Bricks 4 Kids. They were tasked with building a trebuchet/ catapult using lego and they certainly rose to the challenge! Some of the children were such Lego experts that they got to try the more advanced version too!
Well-Being Workshop
3rd & 4th class were lucky enough to do a Well-Being Workshop with Pamela from the Wellness Tribe. We talked about our feelings, how important they are and learned strategies that we could use to help us when we are feeling a little overwhelmed by them. After an extremely relaxing mindfulness session, we practiced our mindful breathing. We finished up with some creative mindfulness and made our own mindfulness jars. we were also grateful to Pamela for being so generous with her time and expertise.
Gymnastics in 3rd & 4th Class November 2023
November 2023- Firetruck Visit
3rd & 4th class were thrilled to meet the firefighters from Portlaw station who gave them a talk about Fire Safety. The children learned loads and had great fun exploring the fire engine. Thank you so much to the firefighters who gave their time and shared their expertise so generously.
Science Week 13th- 20th November 2023
During Science week 2023, we were extremely busy developing our scientific and engineering skills. We built water slides, designed towers, and created helicopters!
Halloween 2023
We were delighted to get dressed up for Halloween on the last day before mid-term! We have been learning about the skeleton in Science class so we assembled our skeletons and hung them up around the school to add to the spooky atmosphere!
