A Padlet is an application to create an online bulletin board that can be used to display information for any topic. This Padlet has been created with all classes and subjects of the primary school in mind. There are also boards for Special Educational needs, Occupational Therapy, Speech and language Therapy as well as emotional/ wellbeing and mindfulness. This is a changing resource as it is upgraded and added to regularly. It is best to open this resource on an ipad or computer as it is a very large resource. Duolingo You can practice with fun lessons that will leave you eager to learn more, and develop reading, writing, speaking, listening, and conversation skills along the way! It feels like a game and makes sure you stay motivated. You can practice for as little as 5 minutes every day and see improvements.

Cúla Caint This lovely Irish language app sounds out or displays words in Irish when the user touches any given image. Cúla Caint 2 and 3 are also available, with an extended vocabulary. (IOS, Android)

Caoga caoga (Fifty-Fifty), a fun Irish language learning game where players of all ages learn vocabulary by associating words with descriptive images. Information on their mobile app for android and iPhone.

Cula 4 This is a free app from TG4, which is designed to cater for younger viewers. Explore, learn and be entertained with the Irish language content. The shows on it are updated regularly for all ages to enjoy.

An Teach Mór Learn the basics of Irish language in the home, the app allows the user to explore 7 rooms in a virtual house, each room contains tasks and fun challenges, this early version of the game features only 2 levels. By using a drag and drop approach to learning the user gets to experience the voice of a fluent speaker help guide them figure out puzzles.

An Chraic With 16 topics, 70 themes, and 800 phrases, supports learning of Irish in 5th/6th class, and beyond. It gives good examples of suitable phrases with clear audio too.

Briathra na Gaeilge This is a fun way To learn and engage with the Irish language. It has detailed information on 500 verbs and translations. It has examples of how they should be used in sentences. It also has interactive tests to challenge your knowledge on what you’ve learned.

Saibhreas na Gaeilge This app has a substantial collection of Irish phrases, proverbs and vocabulary which is invaluable to an Irish language learner.

Mo Chéad Fhocail This is an early learning app which will delight and encourage young children as they learn their first Irish words, using a combination of superb, colourful photographs, simple word labels and friendly narration.

TG4 This app allows you to view TG4 live or catch up on content for 35 days after broadcast. Most programmes carry optional English language subtitles, and some offer Irish language subtitles.

Irish Grammar This app is great for pupils in the senior classes. You can learn grammar rules section by section and then test yourself at the end. It’s like having all the grammar rules at your finger tips!
